The first graders in my classroom will be introduced to new sight words each week. These are words that are used often in the English language, but do not always follow the "rules" of English. The students will practice these words every day and will refer to them often once they are up on the wall. The students will be expected to spell the word wall words correctly in their writing because they can easily reference them. By the end of the year, the kids will be sight word experts!
